European Science Day for Youth is a MILSET Europe event, coordinated by the Association of Lithuanian Olympiads of Natural Sciences (LGMOA) in which different activities on a scientific topic proposed by young people are taking place on the same day all over Europe.

Optics!

The topic for the 2009 edition on 30 April is Optics. Lots of things even besides optical illusions and mirrors are related with it, like telescopes, microscopes, photography, lasers and much more.

Different activities such as lectures, experiments, the Night of the ESDY in connection with the International Year of Astronomy, small contests, quizzes and anything else you can think of can be done.

Let's celebrate this day by sharing the fun of science, ideas and knowledge with young people, your friends and neighbours! You are invited to take photos and videos of the event and share them!

Anyone is invited to organize the ESDY at school, at home, in a club, alone or in team. Feel free to contact us for any information.

All descriptions of the experiments and other activities are provided in as many languages as possible. You are invited to send us your proposals for activities and detailed descriptions of the experiments as well as possible lecture topics and share them with all other participating organisations or people.
